Racing Victoria’s wholly owned subsidiary Victorian Thoroughbred Racing IMB Pty Ltd (VTRIMB) has announced that, following a tender process for the sale of the international media rights for Victorian horse racing held by the Racing Victoria Group (RV Group), it has selected SIS (Sports Information Services Limited) as its preferred partner.

VTRIMB is Racing Victoria’s recently established media production, aggregation and distribution arm which manages the domestic and international rights for all race meetings operated by the Melbourne Racing Club, Moonee Valley Racing Club, Victorian Racing Club (save for 4 days of the Melbourne Cup Carnival) and Country Racing Victoria. VTRIMB is responsible for the Racing.com business, including the 24/7 channel available on Channel 78/68 nationally, 7Plus, Foxtel Channel 529, Kayo, and key racing vision supply deals with Sky Channel and key wagering partners, making Victorian Racing the most widely distributed thoroughbred racing code in Australia.

The multi-year deal with SIS includes worldwide vision and data distribution rights for all Victorian metropolitan and regional racing (with the exception of the 4 days of the Melbourne Cup Carnival and certain arrangements such as New Zealand).

Peter Campbell, Chief Executive Officer of VTRIMB, said:

“SIS has established a deserved reputation as a provider of the best racing action from all over the world. We are continually striving to further the geographical reach and appeal of our racing product and this partnership can play a significant part in addressing that goal. SIS will be a valuable partner in distributing and maximising the reach of our outstanding world-class Victorian racing product. Being able to showcase our tremendous thoroughbred racing, participants, Clubs, integrity, and the wonderful racecourses across the length and breadth of Victoria to the world, as well as expand the opportunities to further engage international wagering operators and punters through SIS’ renowned distribution network and partnerships, can only but strengthen Victorian thoroughbred racing’s reputation around the world.”

Richard Ames, CEO of SIS, said:

“Racing Victoria produce some of the best racing in Australia and indeed the world. SIS has over 400 customers in 50 countries and this premium content will be a valuable addition to our portfolio of over 30,000 international thoroughbred races. We look forward to working with the team at VTRIMB to take their racing to new global audiences.”

Dr Eliot Forbes, CEO of RACELAB, SIS’ key partner in Australia, that provided support during the tender process, said:

“SIS has extensive global reach across fixed odds and pari-mutuel markets and is confident that Victorian racing will prove popular with its worldwide customers. In addition to taking some of Australia’s best quality racing to the world, this deal will bring superior returns to the Victorian racing industry for continued reinvestment”.
