Historic new venue marks first dedicated Quarter Horse facility in the Bluegrass State
We’re pleased to announce that racing from Sandy Ridge Racing, Kentucky’s first and only dedicated Quarter Horse track, is now available to SIS’s global network of operators. Following the track’s official opening on August 19, 2026, SIS is delivering live racing from the new venue from day one, further enhancing our comprehensive portfolio of international horse racing content and providing operators with an exciting new betting product for their customers.
Quarter Horse races are among the most explosive events in racing, contested over short sprint distances at speeds exceeding 55 mph and decided in seconds, they deliver precisely the kind of fast-paced, high-energy content that we specialise in bringing to fixed odds operators worldwide.
The eight-day inaugural meet runs across August and September, with racing on August 20th, 21st, 26th, 27th and 28th, before fixtures on September 5th and 6th. Opening day began at 12:00pm EST, with post time for remaining meet days set for 1:30pm EST.
A total of $3 million in purse money is on offer across the meet — a significant statement of intent for a debut season that signals Sandy Ridge’s ambitions as a premier Quarter Horse venue. The closing-day card on Sunday, September 6th will feature three stakes races: the $75,000 Cherokee Overnight Stakes, the $125,000 Bluegrass Derby and the $125,000 Boco Futurity.
The Sandy Ridge Racing content joins a wider SIS racing offering spanning more than 170 racecourses and tracks across five continents.
