Lorraine Archibald crowned winner of the 2018 SIS/Racing Post Betting Shop Manager of the Year
Lorraine Archibald has been named as the winner of the 2018 SIS/Racing Post Betting Shop Manager of the Year.
The 41-year-old winner from “Ladbrokes” in “Northern Ireland” takes the crown from last year’s winner Ron Hearn of JenningsBet following a very competitive competition. Lorraine’s victory was the first for Northern Ireland.
The eight Regional Champions representing Betfred, Betsid, Coral, Ladbrokes, Paddy Power, and William Hill, all attended the awards ceremony on the 19th November 2018 at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower Hotel, London, after the final judging had concluded.
After being announced the winner Lorraine had said: “This is one of the proudest moments of my life.”
Lorraine has been in the industry for 18 years and oversees three shops in Newtownards, Northern Ireland and has 13 members of staff. The judges described Lorraine as a warm and caring character and has phenomenal awareness regarding the industry’s responsibilities.
We’ve been a key sponsor of the award for its 31-year history, which champions the best retail managers in the UK and Ireland.
Paul Witten (Product Director) told the Racing Post after the awards “It’s great to see a first Northern Ireland winner and we operate in a business where men and women have always been great managers. Her passion augurs well for the future of retail”.
Lorraine Archibald will now embark on a very exciting and busy year ahead, with various public appearances lined up at sporting events and award shows across the country, as well as being flown out to Singapore for a key race day later in the year.
