Starter's orders for Manager of the Year contest

Where would we be without great betting shop managers? That’s the question being posed by SIS and the Racing Post as the 2012 contest to find the Betting Shop Manager of the Year gets underway.

Letters and entry forms are being sent to shops and chains to invite entries for what is the retail industry’s ultimate accolade.

As the 2011 champion, Andy Bennett of Scotbet, enjoys a trip to Dubai for the World Cup, the winner of this year’s competition can look forward to an incredible year which will include TV appearances, a VIP day at Ascot, and the trip of a lifetime to the Singapore Airlines International Cup courtesy of the Singapore Turf Club.

The title is also an incredible promotional and PR opportunity for the winning shop or chain.

But first, all the entrants have to get through four rounds which will include interviews and visits from a “mystery punter” before eight finalists are selected. Those regional champions will then be invited to a glittering lunch and awards ceremony at the sumptuous Jumeirah Carlton Tower Hotel in Mayfair, London later this year, where the overall winner will be crowned.

The competition launches next week on Tuesday 3 April with the closing date for entries set for May 31. For more information contact SIS on 01908 865865 or email info@sis.tv.
