SIS is lining up a raft of content to help bookmakers beat the weekend deluge. With UK racecourses abandoning meetings or waiting on inspections, SIS is helping betting shops fill the gaps if meetings are sunk by the rain.
Much of the country has been hit by torrential rain, with the weather affecting race meetings and other sporting events, such as the British Grand Prix and Wimbledon.
But SIS’ ability to bring in coverage of additional meetings from overseas means that the level of content on SIS betting shop channels will be maintained.
Paul Ritchie, Head of Data, SIS, said: “We’ve already lost Leicester on Saturday and the forecast for the weekend has prompted most UK venues to call inspections.
“Our normally scheduled Australian thoroughbred racing and South African meetings could come to the fore on Saturday and the flexibility of our agreements with other overseas authorities allows us to bring in additional meetings from France, Germany, and Latin America.
“We want to ensure our customers enjoy a wholesome programme of live action despite the atrocious summer weather.”
Additional German fixtures from Magdeburg and Krefeld have already been added to the coverage for Saturday and Sunday and will be shown on SIS+ and the main FACTS channel if there are further abandonments.
